The Crested Butte Dance Collective and the community dance production, Move the Butte were both created in 2010 and are committed to the mission to "deepen the connection to ourselves, each other, and the world around us through dance!"

Move the Butte is a community dance production that features diverse dance styles performed by over 140 local Crested Butte and Gunnison Valley adults.  The show serves our entire community as a supportive, inclusive, and safe environment as well as an opportunity for dancers to perform on stage.  This production showcases many dance styles such as Ballet, Tap, Aerial, Lyrical, Modern, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Jazz, Burlesque, Fire Performing, Hula Hooping, and more!  Approximately 1,400 audience members watch Move the Butte each year, and we encourage any new participants to join us!
